My latest thoughts and work

Wow, after all the Royal Wedding excitement I need to settle into my real work. I always have so many ideas and not enough time to get to them all. Flora and fauna being big on my mind at present and the idea of working on some veils to show you the embroidery work I could do.

I saw this fabulous image

And loved everything about it. No it wasn't at Chelsea!! It was online and I told the florist that's where she and it should be!! If I truly did have a magic wand , like I tell my flower girls that's where me and my husband would be this week. However I will 'Dare to Dream' as I hope one day to make a point and go back there. For now I will just have to keep an eye on the television.

This days even though I worry about Facebook and Instagram I can't ignore there presence. I put off using them for as long as possible but realise that to keep in contact with many of you I have to!! Some of you said it was the only way you saw my work. While others of you didn't necessarily bother to look on my blog unless I inspired you to look. Now on Instagram I have a page to inspire you with different embroidery's, in the hope you will have a go yourselves. For me embroidery is a fabulous way of taking time to sit down and think while you are doing something productive. All feedback if interest to me, about anything I try to do.

Learn to sew with Jo give it a go!!

This is RHS Chelsea's flower if the year!

Thought this was a good idea!

So while I have been watching RHS Chelsea I have been sewing away too.

Always too many ideas, I will never have nothing to do.

And I have been thinking about the sad Manchester victims a year on. Nothing like a bee to cheer you up when it's an embroidered one, a real one ( well Prince Harry knows how scary that one is)!!

To make my week complete my bride just sent me some of her photos of her Big Day.

Looks like All the girls had a fun time, don't they look fab? Hope you have had a good week and been out enjoying that sunshine! All comments welcome!!

The Royal Wedding's official photographs

Let's start with the sketches of the Royal Wedding Dress by Clare Waight Keller which epitomise a timeless minimal elegance. The pure white silk cady gown featured a graphic open bateau neckline, a flowing train and an underskirt in triple silk organza. That veil, wow, with embroidery representing the flora and fauna from around the commonwealth countries.

I just love that lean in and the emotion in all those faces!!

Now to the black and white photos by Alex, Wow!

And last but not least this one that Alex took after the excitement of the weekend.

I had to share it, it's timeless. What will have happened here tomorrow?

My favourite photos of today's Royal wedding

Thanks to all the photographers, mostly Getty images for keeping us informed.

Givenchy do the stunning gown!

After weeks of speculation, Meghan Markle has emerged in a wedding gown designed by Clare Waight Keller.

The celebrity-packed wedding of Markle to Prince Harry is underway in St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, where guests including Oprah, George and Amal Clooney, David and Victoria Beckham, Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, Carey Mulligan, Elton John, Priyanka Chopra, Serena Williams and Markle's Suits co-stars Gabriel Macht, Patrick Adams, Rick Hoffman, Sarah Rafferty and more, have gathered to see American actress Markle marry Prince Harry after a worldwind romance that sparked its own Lifetime movie.

In a shocking turn, Markle turned to Waight Keller, the female artistic director of the French fashion house Givenchy since March 2017. Several other designers had been frontrunners to design the gown, including Stella McCartney and the British house of Ralph & Russo.

To 1,000 years of British and French rivalry, apparently, Markle said “pshaw.” Well, sort of. Although Waight Keller is currently at Givenchy, and before that was at French house Chloe, she is a native Brit who studied for her BA at Ravensbourne College of Art. She gained her Masters in Fashion Knitwear at the Royal College of Art.

She also spent time in the U.S., at Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren, and in the early 2000s relaunched the British heritage brand Pringle of Scotland, after a stint alongside Tom Ford at Gucci. So you might say, she’s about as global a designer as they come. And the house of Givenchy, of course, has a long Hollywood association. Its namesake, who died earlier this year, was closely associated with Audrey Hepburn.

It was a big deal when Waight Keller was appointed the first female artistic director of Givenchy, where she has been steering the house in a more rock n’ roll direction. Gal Gadot wore Waight Keller’s sparkly silver gown to the Oscars.

The style of the guests at the Royal Wedding!!! OMG

What a sublime day!!
