Mini Brides

It's been a sad week with what happened in Manchester and with some many kids being affected by what happened. It makes us think you have to enjoy every second of life as none of us know when life can be cut short.
So I thought I would share some of my photos of kids I have been working with.

Mini brides or 1st Holy Communion dresses always are my May focus.

Here are some photos I am delighted to share with you.

All brilliant characters, hope they enjoyed every second.

Pippa Middleton,her wedding dress.

Pippa's wedding dress with its high neck and guipure lace all over, was truely stunning. Best of all the space where there was no lace on her back which left the shape of a heart, I loved that bit.

The execution of the dress and the craftsmanship is evident even on
the outside, not a seam to be seen!!Compliments to Mr Deacon and his stitchers.

The high-necked, cap-sleeved dress - rumoured to have cost over £40,000 - features a corseted bodice with draping to the front and a beautiful heart-shaped cut-out detail at the back.
The lace bodice is reported to have been embroidered with pearl detailing over an organza and tulle underskirt, which the British designer explained has "layer upon layer to enable a floor-sweeping movement."

The bride is wearing a bespoke veil by milliner Stephen Jones, made from fine tulle with a dégradé of embroidered pearls, while her ivory Manolo Blahnik pumps also have bespoke pearl detailing.

The heart shape theme is seen again in the gypsophila hand held arrangement.

Traditional silk dupion pantaloons for the page boys with pleated cummerbunds repeated again on the flower girls dresses. Both the boys and the girls had fine pin tucked on their top halves. The frill on the girls dresses is held in place with the hint of colour again.

Carole has reportedly spent months planning every micro detail of her daughter's big day and how they would photograph and how fabulous the group will look in complementary, not competing colours when the photo album arrives.

Carole's look of course tones beautifully with the bridal party, including the page boys and bridesmaids in white and gold, as well as her other daughter, the Duchess of Cambridge look was a peach Alexander McQueen dress.

Once again Catherine walker was Carol's choice of designer, she knew she worked so well for her before, choosing another pastel coloured coat-dress for the occasion, this time with a nipped waist and button-down front.

If you would like to come and see the range of guipure laces I have for you to choose from just arrange an appointment.

The latest news from London Bridal Show

The British talent and international bridal designers showed their collections for 2018 in London over the weekend & today.

A certain shape seemed to dominate the catwalk an @Aline flowing skirt on a fitted waist with an embroidered bodice to my delight.

Unconventional coloured dresses and gowns featuring pops of colour were prominent, with blue emerging as the clear trend for 2018.

May madness

The May blog
I hope you are enjoying this second week of May. There is no better place to be than Northern Ireland when the sun is shining. I am just loving the light and longer days here. I really do always enjoy this month so much.

This time of year I have to get my Holy Communion dresses finished and ready for their Big Day. My "Little Brides" are a pleasure they are so excited, while their Mum's are nervous and anxious as to how their day will go. I can't wait to show you some of the photos but I like to wait until each girl has had her day and gets all the credit.

Over the past few weeks I have been really thinking about how busy life is and how I don't always feel in control. I have often thought it's all down to my time management skills and ability to multitask. I'm pretty good at both of these things but thought that perhaps if I could get even better then life might be easier.

I have got some lovely new laces for you to choose from while I have been sewing away.

And some lovely embroidered pieces and edges with lots of ideas where to use them.
Not only these but I am still serious about teaching any of you that want to learn how to sew.
