Wedding Trends for 2016-2017

There is a wondrous array of options available to you when planning a wedding. In Northern Ireland we like to pay homage to a classic wedding elegance which always stands the test of time but it is exciting to be original and to try something personal, something a bit quirky so you feel special on your Big day. How about trying some of these low key wedding trends?
If ivory has never been your colour, you're in luck, because brides are slowly moving away from the monochromatic dress palette. Here we have a hint of pale pink with layers of soft ivory tulle.
Try shades of beige or gold instead.

or how about this Sassi Holford floral fabric under a layer of organza?
For the truly daring bride, add in a splash of colour, pink sashes, and even blue veils can add life to an otherwise sedate look. As long as the rest of your look is classic and understated, you won't look dated in your photos.
If you can't decide between going with tradition and opting for all-out trendiness, there's good news: you don't have to. Contemporary brides are increasingly opting for two dresses – a formal one for the ceremony and a more casual one for the reception. Try picking dresses in two completely different styles to get the most out of your look – and the biggest variety of photos.

Lace never goes out of style, making it the perfect choice for elegant photos that will stand the test of time. This season's brides are opting for all-out glamour by covering themselves in lace from head to toe. If that's a bit too girly for your tastes, try lace edging on your veil or a pop of lace at your neckline instead.

It's not just your dress's silhouette that matters; it's also the neckline. The right neckline can mean the difference between a glamorous wedding photo and hum-drum shots, so be sure to find something that complements your body and face.

The most fashionable brides are opting for illusion necklines – dresses with relatively high necks covered in a sheer fabric. Capitalize on the embellishment trend by adding in some embellishments over your illusion neckline. If you prefer something a little less dramatic, try sweetheart, square or V-neck dresses. The strapless dress with an off the shoulder look or shawl collar effect is on trend for 2016-2017.
