New Dress code for the Cheltenham Races

The great and the good led the fashion stakes at the Cheltenham Festival. Thursday is the Big a Day at the races for the ladies and the Royals always attend.
For many people, Ladies Day is as associated with what goes on off-course as the racing itself, and the event has come to be inherently associated with fashion.
Attendees to the day’s racing at Cheltenham tend to wear some spectacular, high-fashion, and sometimes somewhat gaudy, outfits to the event.
And in a festival which is very much associated with its social aspect, Ladies Day is certainly no exception to this rule.
"Hats on" for the ladies it's especially  important to have the right one some are created just for Cheltenham. This year the ladies had an interest in the fact that Victoria Pendleton was attending.
"Hats off " to her for learning to ride and manage 5th place in the Foxhunter!

Tony McCoy's wife Chanelle looked relaxed as her husband was not riding for the first time in two decades.
Tweed seemed to be the trend for this year.
A specially commissioned outfit was made for one race goer.
A former assistant to Alexander McQueen, Emma Sandham-King and her team of seamstresses and tailors took 4 weeks to create this Harris Tweed suit.
You probably are imagining a stylish lady like this one.
However their client was different, 18 metres of genuine tweed shipped from the Isle of Harris for one suit.
Can you guess yes!
This was the client, Morestead.
Here we have Morestead modelling the three piece suit.
Sir Antony McCoy and Morestead with shirt and tie and flat cap.
The best dressed couple, ready and looking the part.
Now we know why Zara Phillips was having a laugh in the first photo.
