New Year & New Ideas

Christmas is over and the New Year has arrived, the months just fly in. This time of year probably means that there are more brides to be out there. The festive time is a favourite period for couples to get engaged. So congratulations to everyone who has just got engaged.

Whether you are celebrating a new engagement or are either a bride or groom that has already booked  your wedding ensemble with us, I will try and keep you up to date with the latest trends and ideas that would suit you both.

The Spring 2015 Bridal Runways have been & gone, and every season we get to witness what's on the cutting-edge of wedding dress design. From new necklines to interesting embellishments and fashionable fabrications, each season presents a slew of exciting new trends. This spring was no different, with a handful of unexpected necklines, skirt options, colors, and accessories at play. More than most runway seasons, this round of presentations left our hearts flurrying with excitement for what's to come in the bridal world: Off-the-shoulder necklines, bold colors, tulle overskirts, capes, and collars infused many of the designers' collections with a breath of fresh air.

Off-the-shoulder necklines were a natural progression for many bridal designers like , Oscar de la Renta, who sadly we lost last year. In previous seasons one-shoulder, illusion, and cap-sleeves took control of the runways. This time, the romantic draped shoulder shined. It's a great option for brides who want a sleeve, but don't want to look too covered. Can you say modern-day Belle?

Next, new colors emerged in many of our favorite dressmakers presentations (hello, Monique Lhuillier). Blues, grays, and even mint green creations stole the spotlight from the blush, ivory, and of course, white gowns we're accustomed to seeing.
And detail to die for from Ellie Saab.

Round up of the Year

Thanks for a fabulous year everyone. At the start of the year I was asked to do a photo shoot in Malta and it in turn meant that I met up with an ambitious set of people. They inspired me to have a go at doing our own photo shoot and just to make things exciting the horses  got in on the act.

Great day out with the horses
The Year of the Horse, horses seem to be getting in on the act all year round.

& the Year i got a new camera and learnt more about taking photos to share with you all.

Donegal tweed waistcoats and ties

With Tweed very much a fashion icon at present I bought some tweed recently and thought I would share with you the work involved to making it. Tweed is a colourful, traditional practical fabric. It can be used in clothes, furnishings and accessories such as iPad covers - hats.

I have samples with a choose of colours that you can have waistcoat &/ or a tie to be made up in.

The loom the tweed is woven on.

A book of samples of all different colours and patterns.
